Essential Phone Receiving The Android Oreo 8.1 Update Along With April Security Patch And Many More Updates

Essential Phone received the promised Android Oreo 8.1 update in March, but the company behind this is now giving us yet another built of OS. The new update is assured to add some security improvements as well as other bug fixes and many other new enhansments.

First off, the new Android Oreo 8.1.0 brings the April security patch the update that has been released by Google, but that’s not all Essential Phone users will get.

What Else There Is For Essential Phone Users

Some modem stability fixes have been implemented too, along with Bluetooth 5.0 certification and improved performance and bug fixes. Essentially for gamers, the update would make wonders as the Essential Phones now will be able to handle extreme game controls properly.It also includes the Bluetooth 5.0 certification.

Though the device has support for Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, it is only now the company is providing, since the software for the same wasn’t there up until now.

The OTA (over the air) rollout has already begun, so you will be able to spot an update notification on your Essential Phone soon. If not, try to push it manually by heading to Settings / About Phone / Software update.
