Google Is Reportedly Working On A Snapdragon 710 Powered Pixel Smartphone
The buzz has been going all around that Google is currently working on to introduce a new mid-range Pixel smartphone that will be powered by newly announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor. It is supposed to be launched in the first half of 2019.
There’s not much that can be said about the launch of the device but the device will not be unveiled with the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL that are coming later this year.
The latest rumor comes from German leakster Roland Quandt who tweeted that-
“Off to Taiwan for @computex_taipei today, but here’s a tidbit for ya: Google is working on a “mobile” device based on the Snapdragon 710 currently scheduled for launch in the 1st half of 2019. Sounds like this might be the (or one of them) upcoming mid-range pixel phone.”

Quandt further said that- “No I do not know if there is one planned for this year. No, I do not know any specifics in this device, only the CPU. Hardware dev work in this only just started about a month ago.“
But at the same time, it is thought-provoking that another report being circulated on the internet back in April suggested that the search engine giant was planning to launch a Pixelbook laptop, a smart speaker, and smart home automation products along with the mid-budget smartphone in India around the same time.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 is the latest “upper-mid-end” processor and it is much more powerful than the Snapdragon 660.
To be more informative, Snapdragon 710 is the first processor in the company’s new 700-tier portfolio, which comes with significant improvements over the 600-tier chipset series. It has been built using the 10nm processing technology and it features multi-core AI engine and neural network processing capabilities. It comes with eight cores of Qualcomm Kryo 360 CPU which can clock a speed of 2.2GHz and Qualcomm Adreno 616 GPU. It also features Qualcomm Aqstic audio technology, which is available in its premium Snapdragon 845 chipset, and Quick Charge 4+ technology, which can charge 50 percent battery in just 15 minutes.
With this expected mid-range lineup, Google seems to on an epitome expedition that can secure a substantial Indian market share competing with premium market leaders such as Apple, Xiaomi, Oppo and recently OnePlus.
