Talking about performance, both the iPhone run on the same processor, therefore, there is no steer difference between the two. Both the iPhone run on the A11 Bionic chip with an embedded M11 motion coprocessor and have the neural engine to allow AI processing to happen on the device. The A11 Bionic chip with M11 coprocessor enables smooth AR experiences.

According to the company, A11 is much faster than the previous generation A10 fusion. It is 75 percent faster than the previous generation processor. A11 Bionic chip comes with six cores, namely, two cores for high-performance computing and four cores for efficiency for the tasks that do not require much power and performance.

The iPhone 8 plus comes with same old Facetime camera but this time with f/2.2 aperture. It records 1080 pixel video and can take 7-megapixel still. It also features retina screen flash to help get better lightening for the selfies.

Whereas, iPhone X comes with all new true depth camera with same old features too. True depth camera has special sensors that assist in the secure facial recognition. It also includes an infrared camera to see in the dark, a proximity sensor, a flood illuminator and a dot projector that helps make a 3D map of the face.

Storage options for both the iPhones are same as for other previous generation iPhones. But, the cost of iPhone 8 plus and iPhone X cost more than the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 plus. As for iPhone X having edge-to-edge OLED display, it is obvious to cost it more than the iPhone 8 plus (according to the fact that it is more difficult to manufacture a phone with an edge-to-edge display).

iPhone 8 plus costs $799 for 64GB and $949 for 256GB, whereas, iPhone X costs $999 for 64GB and $1149 256GB.

Well, if you are price-conscious and does not like face ID then you may purchase for iPhone 8 plus. Even if you like the large size of plus model then can go for iPhone 8 plus.

But, if you want the latest and greatest technology and like face ID or want to have/experience face ID and not price-conscious then go for iPhone X.
