Google announced officially at the high-profile India press conference that its popular google assistant will now be featured on the Reliance Jio phone. The AI assistant was earlier available on various Android mobiles and Android wear devices but now, Reliance Jio 4G VoLTE – the cheapest phone available in the market has joined the series of the smartphones features virtual assistant from Google.
Jio phone is a little different from any other feature phone in the market right now. In the competition of high-tech smartphones in the market available at this moment, Jio phone will incorporate google assistant. But, interestingly Jio phone already has its own voice assistant called HelloJio. But, Hellojio is a bit slow and the google assistant will be able to do much more than HelloJio, including internet browsing, searching, opening web pages, etc.
HelloJio also supports Hindi language just like the google assistant. It is also supports English and is expected that it might also support other major Indian regional languages. Google assistant will allow Quick and relevant information about the search queries both in text as well as in a conversation-based manner required by the users of the Jio phone.
It is expected that the Jio Phone will run on the Android Oreo Go edition. It will be powered by Qualcomm snapdragon 205 chipset and will offer Wi-Fi and 4G VoLTE connectivity options. Unlike other Android Phones, the Jio phone will not feature the dual-SIM support. According to resources, Google assistant will be providing same level of usability on the Jio phone as it does on a high-end smartphone.
The phone will support a 2.4 inch display with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The storage is expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD card. It also features a rear camera, torchlight and FM radio. The user is forced to use JioMoney since the phone only supports mobile payment with the built-in NFC chip.
It isn’t clear yet when and how the google assistant will be rolling out to the JioPhone.
