Finally, Nokia has launched its flagship killer smartphone the Nokia 8 to take on the iPhone 7 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S8 and the upcoming iPhone 8 and Galaxy Note 8. This is the first device developed by HMD Global after signing a partnership with Carl Zeiss last month.

The Nokia 8 bears a dual-SIM slot (select markets only) and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat (the Nokia 8 runs on stock Android OS). The Nokia 8 sports a 5.3-inch IPS 2K resolution display offers ultra-vivid colors and superb clarity, and is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 SOC and comes with 4GB of RAM.

A first for mobile phones, the exclusive Dual-Sight mode lets you use both front and back cameras simultaneously for split-screen photos and video.

Nokia 8 features a 13 MP dual image-fusion rear camera with both color and monochrome sensors, plus a wide-angle 13 MP phase detection auto-focus front camera. Both front and rear cameras are equipped with ZEISS optics. Nokia 8 comes with 64GB of inbuilt storage with the option to expand further via a microSD slot (up to 256GB). Nokia 8 is splash proof (IP54) and will be able to withstand light rains and splashes of water.

For immersive video capture and a playback experience to match, the Nokia 8 is the first ever phone to feature Nokia OZO spatial 360° audio built in to its core. Capture moments with tech used by Hollywood filmmakers and music producers, then relive them as if you never left.

Nokia 8 connectivity options include 4G LTE, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.0. The Nokia 8 houses a 3,090mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge 3.0 Support. The Smartphone measures 151.5mm x 73.7mm x 7.9mm and weighs 160 grams.

Nokia 8 Price in India and Release date:

The Nokia 8 will be available “globally” in early September, priced at the equivalent of EUR 599 (approximately Rs. 45,000). The Nokia 8 India launch will be in September or early October, and the Nokia 8 price in India will be known at the launch. Buyers will be able to choose from four color options – Polished Blue, Polished Copper, Tempered Blue, and Steel.
