The world’s first “Rear Quad Camera” smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) launched in India today. The Galaxy A9 was earlier launched in Kuala Lumpur back in the last month at a starting price of EUR 599 (Rs.48,900 approx). The device is available at a price of Rs.36,990 for the 6GB RAM and Rs.39,990 for the 8GB RAM. Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) will be available on all online platforms (Airtel Store, Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm Mall) and offline shops from November 28. The smartphone can be pre-book form today. Galaxy A9 (2018) is available in the Bubblegum Pink, Caviar Black, and Lemonade Blue color options.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) comes equipped with a 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080*2220) pixels resolution Infinity Display that has a Super AMOLED panel and has an 18:5:9 aspect ratio. The Galaxy A9 (2018) is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC and has four cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and four cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. The device runs on the Android 8.0 Oreo-based Samsung Experience UX. The device has a battery back-up of 3,800 mAh battery which supports fast charging.
In terms of camera, this is the world’s first smartphone to sport four cameras on its rear. The device features a 24MP primary sensor (f/1.7 aperture), a 10MP telephoto sensor (f/2.4 aperture) with 2x optical zoom, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor (f/2.4 aperture) and a 5MP depth sensor (f/2.2 aperture) camera set-up on its rear along with an LED flash. And on the front, the device features a 24-MP sensor with an aperture of f/2.0. The front camera enables a pre-loaded Face Unlock Feature and has the feature of selfie focus and pro-lighting. The device has the features of recognizing the 19 different scenes and can optimize color settings so that it can produce the shots matching to the content. One can also add the AR Emoji to their picture.
In terms of RAM & Storage, the device comes with 6GB and 8GB of RAM and has an internal storage of 128GB. The memory of the device can be further expanded by the microSD card. The Galaxy A9 also sports sensors such as the accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, proximity sensor, fingerprint sensor, and an RGB light sensor. The other connectivity features of the device include 4G VOLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, NFC, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
