The Madras High court has given the directive to put a ban on Tiktok App. The Supreme Court puts stay on the Madras High court order to put a ban on the app and said that it is an interim order. On Tuesday, Google and Apple were asked by the Government to take down the app from the Play Store and Apple Store.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) refused to stay an earlier order by the Madras High Court to ban the app. Meity is ensuring that Apple and Google delete the app from their platform.
The senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi appearing for Byte dance – the owner company of Tiktok, said that “banning the app will cause irreparable damage to app’s revenue and reputation. “The Byte Dance in reply to Madras High court directive in an email said that “At Tik-Tok, we have faith in the Indian Judicial system and the stipulations afforded to social media platforms by the Information Technology (Intermediaries Guidelines) Rules, 2011,”. Recently the company said that it has removed 6 Million videos that violated their community rules.

Today, Tiktok App is removed by Google and Apple from their platforms following the directive of Madras high court to ban the app. Users are still searching for Tiktok on Play Store and Apple Store and are searching for other sites to download the app. The #Tiktokban hashtag is trending on the on other social media platforms . The ban has to lead to many funny memes and jokes too. The ban was put because of the showcasing inappropriate content on its platform.
Tiktok is a Social Media App where users from around the globe can share their videos on their favorite music and effects to it. Earlier Tiktok was one of the Third most downloaded apps on play store and Apple store. It has a user base of 188 million in which India accounts for 86.7 million.
