Xiaomi Launches Mi Gaming Laptop With Nvidia GTX 1060 Graphics in China

Laptops are becoming more powerful than before, just add in a GTX 10 series GPU’s by Nvidia into the mix, and you can run 4K games with the same smoothness as on a Sony Play Station 4 Pro or Microsoft Xbox One X. We can witness a huge competition among different tech companies with their laptops and in this war Xiaomi has also launched its first Mi gaming laptop with NVIDIA GTX 1060.

Xiaomi Launches Gaming Laptop With Nvidia GTX 1060 Graphics in China

With the launch of Mi Mix 2S flagship smartphone succeeding Mi Mix 2 in an event in China Xiaomi shocked the crowd by unveiling another device, the Mi Gaming Laptop that starts from RMB 5,999 (approx. Rs 62,122),, claiming that it is so thin and light that one can even carry it to work as it is only 20.9mm slim and weighs 2.7kgs.It was also told by the company that it is big on performance and has a turbo cooling system that gets activated by pressing just one hotkey that will help it maintain higher clock speeds under load. It features a 15.6-inch wide colour gamut panel and has an ultra-thin bezel. It also has an Intel 7th gen Core i7 processor with 16GB of RAM. Storage of the laptop includes a 256GB SSD with expanding capabilities and a 1TB hard drive.




It has a dark grey body with a matte finish and the curves and cuts resemble those on the Razer Blade Pro. Other features include USB Type-C, HDMI 2.0, Ethernet, four USB 3.0 ports along with a mic and headphone jack, and a 3-in-1 memory card reader, it is also equipped with full-sized ‘four-zone’ RGB-backlit keyboard with five-programmable keys and 16 million colors which gives it the feel of gaming laptop despite its sleek design. There are total 10 interface portals and there is Dolby Sound and Sony Hi-Res certified audio.

Expected Launch In Other Markets





The company did not reveal about the timings of when the product will be globally launched, however it will be available in China. All the future plans of the laptop will be decided by its price because we already have gaming notebooks on the market which offer similar specifications at a competitive price.

The pricing of the laptop is typically half the cost of most of the gaming laptops, Therefore Xiaomi is offering a great gaming hardware at an affordable price.  The market has a slew of gaming laptops but one will have to see whether the Mi gaming laptop is up for the challenge.
