February is going to be ablaze as Chinese company Xiaomi announces a new mobile launch to be held on February 20. The CEO himself shared few images of Xiaomi Mi 9 on Twitter. The Xiaomi Mi 9 will launch only in China. The Global launch is on Feb 24 at MWC 2019. Interestingly, on the same day, Samsung will also announce their latest flagship, Galaxy S10 at an event in San Francisco.
Xiaomi CEO Leo Jun confirmed that the phone will come with triple lens camera setup, reverse charging technology, gradient finish, and waterdrop notch. The upcoming Xiaomi Mi 9 will be the successor to Mi 8, which was launched in May 2018.
Expected Features & Specifications
The Xiaomi Mi 9 is expected to be powered by an octa-core processor with the chipset of Qualcomm SDM855 Snapdragon 855 (7nm) with 256GB Internal Storage – 8GB RAM, and 128 GB – 6/8 GB RAM. The Xiaomi Mi 9 is expected to run on latest Android 9; MIUI 10 and powered by a nonremoveable 3500mAh Li-Po battery. The Xiaomi Mi 9 have triple lens rear camera & a 24MP front shooter for selfies. The setup reportedly consists of a 48MP primary camera, a 12MP secondary sensor, and a ToF sensor.

The screen is rumored to be Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen; QHD with 1080×2280 pixels. There are speculations regarding the in-display fingerprint scanner. The dimensions may be 155.00×75.00×7.60 (height x width x thickness) & aspect ratio 19:1.
Connectivity options are said to include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, USB Type-C and 4G. Other sensors should include Face Unlock, 3D face recognition, Fingerprint sensor, Compass/ Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, and Gyroscope.
